Job summary

XPO, Inc. is seeking Truck Driver Students in Salem, IL. You will train to obtain a CDL-A and gain on-the-job experience as an LTL Driver, performing essential vehicle inspections and documentation under supervision.

The role offers home daily shifts, a pay range of $22.85–$28.10 per hour, full health insurance on day one, life and disability coverage, and a 401(k) with company match, plus education assistance and PTO during the first year.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• 1 year of related experience.
• Hold a valid state-issued driver's license for a minimum of 12 months.
• Attain a CDL-A permit by day one and the following endorsements within 90 days: double/triple trailers, tanker and HAZMAT.
• Initiate TSA fingerprint background check by second week of class.
• Safe driving record and history.
• Pass a DOT drug test with no positive tests in 3 years.
• Pass a company-paid DOT physical and pre-hire test; perform essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Attend training sessions to obtain a CDL-A.
• Gain on-the-job experience as an LTL Driver.
• Perform vehicle inspections under FMCSR 396.13.
• Maintain records per FMCSR, DOT and company policies.
• Load and unload freight using a forklift as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Adhere to company safety policies.
• Maintain contact with service center personnel in a fast-paced environment.
