Job summary

Schneider National is seeking a Driver Training Instructor to coach, mentor and onboard new drivers. The role includes hands-on classroom and truck training, focusing on safety, hours of service, trip planning and the use of Schneider’s tablet/workflow system.

Ideal candidates will have prior instructor experience, a professional attitude, and the ability to learn Schneider’s policies. Live within 50 miles of Coraopolis, PA, and participate in company-paid training and benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous instructor or training experience preferred.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
• Demonstrates a positive, professional attitude.
• Able to learn, demonstrate and train Schneider’s company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor and onboard new drivers.
• Perform hands-on training in the classroom and in the truck.
• Train drivers on safety, hours of service, trip-planning, workflow, tablet, policies and procedures.
• Act as a safety advocate and driver retention ambassador for the organization.
• Teach driving skills that align with Schneider’s guidelines and materials.
• Show drivers how to use Schneider’s electronic tablets and workflow system.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.
• Evaluate and provide updates on candidates who are not meeting expectations.
• Prepare drivers for a safe and rewarding career at Schneider.
