Job summary

Schneider National is seeking an experienced Driver Trainer to coach, onboard, and hands-on train new drivers at our Carlisle, PA area operations. The role focuses on safety, hours of service, trip planning, and policy adherence, mentoring drivers to perform at Schneider standards.

The trainer will lead classroom and truck-based instruction, demonstrate Schneider's tablet and workflow systems, and provide constructive feedback to improve driver performance and retention.

Qualifications

• Experience as instructor or trainer preferred.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
• Demonstrates a positive, professional attitude.
• Able to learn, demonstrate and train Schneider's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor and onboard new drivers.
• Perform hands-on training in the classroom and in the truck.
• Train drivers on safety, hours of service, trip-planning, workflow, tablet, policies and procedures.
• Act as a safety advocate and driver retention ambassador for the organization.
• Teach driving skills that align with Schneider's guidelines and materials.
• Show drivers how to use Schneider's electronic tablets and workflow system.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.
• Evaluate and provide updates on candidates who are not meeting expectations.
• Prepare drivers for a safe and rewarding career at Schneider.
