Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Shuttle Driver in Jackson, MS to transport empty trailers to warehouse locations and deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards. You will operate tandem tractors, tractors, and/or straight trucks on intrastate/interstate routes, following DOT regulations and safety practices.

The role emphasizes safe, timely movements, communication with customers and co-workers, and teamwork to support America’s food distribution system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year or more commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all state licensing/certification requirements.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Work third shift: Sunday–Thursday nights.
• Pass pre-employment drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Valid DOT Health Card or able to secure one.
• Able to lift 60–90 pounds and operate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) on tractor/trailer per DOT regulations.
• Report safety issues and repairs.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety policies; secure freight.
• Ensure route paperwork is with loads and available at dispatch.
• Drive and deliver trailers per schedule and routes.
• Perform hook/unhook procedures safely.
• Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas.
• Secure equipment and freight; manage damaged goods and returns.
• Complete daily hours-of-service logs as required.
• Maintain cleanliness of tractor and loading dock areas.
