Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Shuttle Driver to transport empty trailers to various yard locations and return with full trailers, ensuring on-time, safe deliveries and a professional customer-facing presence. You will operate tandem tractors and straight trucks on intrastate routes with DOT compliance and daily home time.

The role requires a valid CDL-A with doubles endorsement, 6+ months driving, and a 3rd shift schedule (Sun–Thu nights).

Qualifications

• Pre/post trip safety checks and inspections per DOT regulations.
• Report safety issues and required repairs.
• Follow DOT regulations and safe driving guidelines; report hazards.
• Ensure route paperwork is ready for dispatch.
• Drive and deliver trailers on schedule; ensure freight is secured.
• Perform hook/unhook procedures safely.
• Park and store tractors and trailers; secure equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety checks and inspections on tractor/truck and trailer.
• Report safety issues and repairs.
• Adhere to DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Ensure route paperwork is available at dispatch.
• Drive and deliver trailers on predetermined route schedule.
• Perform hook/unhook procedures safely.
• Maintain clean and organized yard and trailers.
