Job summary

NIS EXPRESS is seeking entry-level CDL-A drivers to begin with a Northeast fleet out of Syracuse that trains new CDL holders on the road and avoids New York City routes. Rochester area drivers can start with the Syracuse base and work toward independent truck assignments after training.

During training, you’ll ride with an experienced trainer and earn $850 per week, moving to your own truck on full pay when sign-off occurs, plus a guaranteed $1,000 per week for the first 3 months of solo driving.

Qualifications

• CDL-A in hand, no experience: 120+ hours from an accredited CDL school. Paid training with a driver trainer, paid every week while you learn.
• Experienced drivers: 6 months OTR in the last 12 months, or 12 months in the last 5 years. Skip training and go straight to your own truck.

Responsibilities

• Dry van freight in the Northeast and New England.
• 1,500 to 2,800 miles per week.
• Flexible home time: run 1,900 miles in a week and your weekend is off.
• Mostly drop and hook, some live loads and unloads.

How You Start

The Job

Pay

• Average weekly earnings of $1,300 to $2,000
• 55 cents per mile to start, plus 1 cent for every year with the company, up to 65 cents

Everyone Needs

• Class A CDL, 21 or older
• No more than 2 moving violations in 2 years
• Able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
• Live within 200 miles of Syracuse, NY
