Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Route Driver to operate a semi-truck or vacuum truck and collect animal mortalities, fat and bone, or grease from customer locations.

The role requires strict adherence to safety rules, regulatory compliance, and excellent customer service as you manage pickups and complete routing paperwork. You will maintain the vehicle, log electronic DOT data, and ensure accurate receipts and signatures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21+ with a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
• CDL A with tanker endorsements required.
• Must be registered on Clearinghouse FMCSA.

Responsibilities

• Collects and inspects raw material at pickup for foreign or hazardous material.
• May pump/load grease containers; ensure container cleanliness and area safety; document route tickets.
• Maintains Electronic DOT log and provides receipts with customer signatures.
• Responsible for company vehicle and compliance with regulations; keeps vehicle clean.
• Performs safety checks and inspections and follows company safety rules.
• Completes daily vehicle condition reports and adheres to safety standards.
• Maintains excellent customer relations through professional service.
• Completes all required paperwork daily (route tickets, inspections, accident reports, mileage, service forms).
• Manages established route; attends safety meetings; may serve on Safety Committee.
• Supports additional duties as assigned.
