Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking qualified drivers to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-points, operating tractor-trailers (including doubles/triples where applicable).

Eligible candidates hold a Class A CDL with hazmat and tank endorsements (automatic transmission allowed). A minimum 1 year experience in the last 3 years or completion of the FedEx Freight Driver Development Course is required, along with a valid MVR and DOT regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements required.
• Automatic transmission restriction allowed.
• 1 year experience within last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR.
• Must meet DOT FMC regs (391).
• LCV operation in specified states; meet minimum standards.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook/unhook trailers with ~100 lb lift force repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and procedures.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or problems.
• May perform tire chaining as needed.
• May cover city driver or dock duties as required.
• Load and unload freight.
• Follow laws and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
