Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking an entry-level Driver Trainee in Mansfield, OH. You will learn to operate a tractor trailer or straight truck, complete required safety checks, and deliver food products to customers on a route schedule, while maintaining DOT compliance and quality service.

No prior experience required; training is provided. Must possess a CDL permit, be 21+, and pass drug tests, road test, and DOT health card.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• Internal PFG Candidates: 1 year of service in good standing and able to attain CDL Permit.
• External Driver School Direct Hire: 0-6 months experience with a CDL Permit.
• External Entry Level Hire: 0-6 months with a CDL Permit.
• Valid CDL A Permit.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card.
• Able to lift and move product cases/freight up to 90 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete the Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program.
• Ride with and assist driver trainer during deliveries.
• Perform pre/post trip inspections per DOT regulations.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines.
• Drive to deliver customer orders according to schedule and unload at customer locations.
• Verify deliveries, obtain customer signatures, and handle payments when required.
• Secure trailer and maintain required paperwork.
• Complete daily hours-of-service logs.
• Maintain clean and safe work area and equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
