Job summary

Performance Food Group (New) is seeking an entry-level Driver Trainee to learn tractor-trailer or straight truck routes across local, interstate, and overnight deliveries. You will train under a driver mentor, perform safety checks, and ensure accurate paperwork and customer signatures.

The role emphasizes safe driving, adherence to DOT regulations, and teamwork to support America’s food distribution system. Training and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
• Must be 21 years of age and able to meet licensing requirements.
• Pass post-offer drug test and road test.
• Able to hand-lift and move freight up to 90 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete Driver Trainee or Dock-to-Driver training program.
• Ride with driver trainer and assist deliveries as required.
• Perform pre/post trip safety inspections per DOT regulations.
• Follow DOT guidelines and company safety policies at all times.
• Drive to deliver orders and unload at customer locations.
• complete paperwork, obtain signatures, and handle payments as required.
• Maintain site cleanliness and secure equipment after shifts.
