Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking an entry-level Driver Trainee to learn tractor/trailer and local route deliveries for food products. You will train with an experienced driver, perform safety inspections, and progressively handle deliveries with DOT-compliant procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• 0-12 months commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL-A or CDL-B.
• Must be 21+ years of age.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Pass road test.
• Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card.
• Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move freight up to 90 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program as required.
• Ride with driver trainer and assist deliveries.
• Perform safety checks and inspections per DOT regulations.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines.
• Drive to deliver customer orders according to route schedule.
• Unload and verify deliveries with customers; obtain signatures and collect payments where required.
• Ensure equipment and freight are secured at all times.
• Complete daily hours-of-service logs and housekeeping duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
