Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Tucker, GA is seeking a SOLO Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our local shuttle fleet. You will operate a tractor-trailer, follow DOT regulations, and maintain accurate logs while delivering equipment between Ryder facilities.

Starting times around 7:00 AM, Monday to Friday, with home daily time and weekly pay. This position emphasizes safety and reliability, with company support for road safety and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must have CDL Class A with endorsements as required.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Must pass Ryder drug test and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a commercial vehicle and comply with safety/DOT regulations.
• Maintain logs and records accurately and follow instructions.
• Route is shuttle between Ryder customer facilities with no-touch freight.

All Drivers have 24/7 Roadside Maintenance by a Ryder Trained Technician plus Service Employees fuel up our trucks at all 800+ Maintenance Facilities

• - Route: Shuttle Equipment between Ryder Customer Facilities
• - Freight:No Touch - Empty Trailers for Equipment Shuttle Transfer Movement

Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and Company Drivers fuel up the trucks at over 800 Maintenance Facilities Nationwide.

Requirements

• - Minimum 21 years of age
• - Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• - Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• - Pass a DOT physical
• - Pass a Ryder road test
• - Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• - Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• - 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• - 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• - 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• - Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• - Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Important Note: Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

• - This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service
• - Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• - Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• - Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• - Maintaining accurate records and logs Other tasks as assigned
