Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Annapolis Junction, MD seeks a SOLO Class A CDL Truck Driver to shuttle equipment between Ryder facilities. Local home daily with a Monday–Friday schedule, starting 8:00 AM.

Driver is paid $24.00 per hour with weekly pay; trucks are newer and company support is provided for maintenance and safety. Benefits include medical/dental/vision after 30 days, 80 hours PTO in year one, boot allowance, 401(k) with company match after one year, and maternity leave eligibility.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or equivalent vehicle.
• 6–12 months experience minimum within recent years or 5+ years overall.
• Able to pass drug test, background, and DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a commercial vehicle and comply with DOT regulations.
• Perform duties with no-touch freight and routine equipment shuttling.
• Maintain logs and records; follow safety and customer service standards.

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Hourly Pay: $24.00 Per Hour
• Home Time: Local - Home Daily
• Schedule: Monday - Friday
• Start Time: 8:00 AM

• Route: Shuttle Equipment between Ryder Customer Facilities
• Freight:No Touch - Empty Trailers for Equipment Shuttle Transfer Movement

Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and Company Drivers fuel up the trucks at over 800 Maintenance Facilities Nationwide.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Important Note: Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service

Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records and logs Other tasks as assigned
