Job summary

American Driver LLC is seeking Southern Arizona drivers for full OTR work based out of the Tucson yard. You will begin with training pay and progress to solo routes with weekly pay and milestone earnings.

After orientation and mentoring, you’ll drive 1,800–2,100 miles weekly, be home every three weeks, and access benefits after 30 days, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and college program.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid CDL Class A license.
• Recent CDL school graduate with 120+ hours, or 6 months of driving experience.
• Clean driving record with no DUI/DWI in 10 years and minimal moving violations.
• DOT physical, hair test and urine test completed as required.

Responsibilities

• OTR trucking out of the Tucson yard with home every three weeks.
• Drop and hook, live loads and some unload work.
• Plan trips, log driving hours and fuel stops with mentor during training.

Your paycheck

• $850 weekly during training
• $1,000 guaranteed per week for your first 3 months solo
• $1,100 average per week
• 1,800 to 2,100 miles weekly
• Home every three weeks
• $5 first stop, $15 each stop after
• Paychecks every week

From application to your own truck

After you apply, a recruiter calls to look over your license and record with you. Next comes orientation, 2 days at most, with the hotel paid, your one-way bus ticket reimbursed and $300 for attending once you are hired. Then you ride 4 to 6 weeks with a mentor who coaches you on backing, trip planning, logs and fueling, and you are paid $850 a week while you learn. When you are ready, you get your own assigned truck, from a fleet about 1.5 years old on average with 10-speeds and automatics. For your first 3 months solo, your pay will not drop below $1,000 a week.

On the road

Full OTR, so plan on being out. Your truck gets serviced while you are home, so there is no delay when you head back out.

• At least 21, Class A CDL in hand
• Recent CDL school graduate with 120+ hours, or 6 months of recent driving
• 2 or fewer moving violations in 2 years and no DUI/DWI in 10 years
• DOT physical, hair test and urine test

The things new drivers ask most

• "What if I have a problem on the road?" You are not on your own. Trips are planned for you and your driver leader picks up the phone.
• "My school was short. Does it count?" If you have at least 120 hours from a CDL school, you qualify.
• "What if my first solo weeks are slow?" You still get at least $1,000 a week for your first 3 months.
• "Will I be gone for months?" Plan on being out. This is full OTR and you are home every three weeks.
