Job summary

American Driver LLC is seeking CDL-A drivers for dedicated regional runs across Southern California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah. The job is open to new CDL-A holders, with orientation and mentoring provided to help you learn quickly.

Expect about 1,800 miles weekly with home twice per week and a 34-hour reset. Pay includes $850 during training, weekly pay, and $0.60–$0.62 per loaded mile, plus $100 unload pay and per-stop bonuses. You’ll be part of a fleet averaging around 1.5 years old.

Qualifications

• Age 21+ must meet DOT requirements.
• CDL-A license required; new grads with limited experience welcome.
• No DUI/DWI in past 10 years; up to 2 moving violations in past 2 years.
• DOT medical exam and hair/urine drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Unload with a liftgate and roll carts; earn $100 per unload.

Just got your CDL-A? Good. This job is open to new drivers, and nobody expects you to know everything yet.

What you earn

• $850 weekly during training
• $1,600 to $1,700 average per week
• $0.60 to $0.62 per mile, paid on all loaded miles
• About 1,800 miles weekly
• Home twice a week, 34-hour reset at home
• $100 unload pay, $25 per stop, $80 for loads under 100 miles
• Weekend deliveries are rare
• You get paid weekly

From application to your own truck

After you apply, a recruiter calls to look over your license and record with you. Next comes orientation, 2 days at most, with the hotel paid, your one-way bus ticket reimbursed and $300 for attending once you are hired. Then you ride 4 to 6 weeks with a mentor who coaches you on backing, trip planning, logs and fueling, and you are paid $850 a week while you learn. When you are ready, you get your own assigned truck, from a fleet about 1.5 years old on average with 10-speeds and automatics.

Nervous about your first driving job? Fair.

• "I am not good at backing yet." Nobody is on day one. You get weeks of practice with a mentor next to you before you ever drive alone.
• "Will one ticket disqualify me?" Not by itself. We accept up to 2 moving violations in the past 2 years.
• "Do I have to pay for orientation?" No. The hotel is covered, your bus ticket is reimbursed, and you are paid $300 once hired.
• "How often will I see home?" You are home twice a week.

Day to day

Early morning store deliveries on regional lanes between Phoenix, Southern California, Nevada and Utah.

This one is physical. You unload with a liftgate and roll carts, and you get $100 for every unload. If you deliver to Utah on a Friday, expect to be home Saturday night.

To qualify

• Age 21+
• Class A CDL: new grads with at least 120 training hours are welcome, or 6 months of recent experience
• No DUI/DWI in the past 10 years, max 2 moving violations in the past 2 years
• Able to pass a DOT medical exam and a hair and urine drug screen
