Job summary

Penske Logistics is hiring a Forklift Operator for a new operation in Laredo, Texas. The role requires safety-conscious individuals with a pleasant, outgoing attitude to excel in a warehouse environment. Monday to Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, with overtime on weekends/holidays as needed.

Base rate is $21.63 per hour. Benefits include PTO, medical, dental, vision, life insurance and a 401K with associate discounts.

Qualifications

  • No prior warehouse experience required but preferred.
  • Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required (Spanish and English preferred).
  • Ability to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi-tasking and time management skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload trailers.
  • Move materials within the warehouse.
  • Comply with all safety requirements.
  • Electronic scanning of products using a warehouse management system.
  • Communicate with associates from other shifts.
  • Read work orders or instructions to determine tasks and material needs.
  • Record daily quantities moved on production sheets or tickets.
  • Read production schedules and orders to determine items to move or distribute.
  • Fill requisitions and distribute items to production workers.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and related equipment.

* This is a new operation located in Laredo, Texas. New hire orientation is projected to be in August *

Monday to Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (weekends/holidays as required)

  • $21.63 base rate
Additional Benefits:
  • $125 Boot allowance after 90-days of employment
Job Responsibilities:
  • Loads and unloads trailers
  • Move materials within the warehouse
  • Complies with all safety requirements
  • Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
  • Communicate with associates from other shifts
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
  • Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets
  • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable)
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
  • No prior warehouse experience required but preferred.

  • Flexible to work overtime preferred
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

  • Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required
  • Complete a Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
