Job summary

Penske Logistics in Laredo, Texas is seeking a Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. You will load and unload trailers, move materials, operate forklifts, and follow all safety requirements.

The position offers a 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. schedule, starting base pay of $21.63 per hour, plus benefits such as PTO, medical, dental, vision, life, 401K and a boot allowance after 90 days. Penske is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Position Details

Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (weekends/holidays as required). New hire orientation is projected to be in August. This is a new operation located in Laredo, Texas.

Base rate: $21.63

Job Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trailers.
• Moves materials within the warehouse.
• Complies with all safety requirements.
• Electronically scans products using a warehouse management system.
• Communicates with associates from other shifts.
• Reads work orders or receives oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs.
• Records numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
• Operates forklifts, pallet jacks and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable).
• Performs other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• No prior warehouse experience required but preferred.
• Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required (bilingual in Spanish and English preferred).
• Demonstrates independence, customer service, ability to work with others, multitasking skills, organizational skills, flexibility, and excellent number and time‑management skills.
• Flexible to work overtime (preferred).
• Ability to work in non‑climate‑controlled conditions required.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Willingness to work the required schedule and work at the specific location.
• Completes a Penske employment application, submits to a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening requirements.
