Job summary

FedEx Freight is hiring a professional truck driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers. You will support the selling process by initiating contacts and coordinating with dispatch.

The role requires a valid Class A CDL with hazmat, doubles/triples endorsements where applicable, and the ability to perform daily safety inspections. Physical lifting of up to 100 pounds is expected, with flexibility in hours.

Qualifications

• Must have a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat, and tank endorsements.
• 1 year experience within last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must meet DOT and Motor Vehicle Record requirements.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds repeatedly.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer and double/triple combinations as needed.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies from tractor or trailer.
• Handle freight using forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps and rope.
• Coordinate with dispatch and customers for pickups/deliveries.
• Provide internal/external customer service and identify new business.
