Job summary

ABF Freight, an ArcBest company, is seeking a dock worker to perform pickup and delivery duties near Des Moines. You will operate a forklift, complete routine paperwork, and log loading sheets while managing trailer setup and safety procedures.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of tractor/trailer experience (training possible), and a Class-A CDL with required endorsements. You must pass a DOT drug screen and meet medical requirements. Shifts vary by location.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience (training possible with less than 1 year).
• Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker and hazmat endorsements and no automatic restriction.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Clean driving record (MVR and prior employment).
• Able to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and meet DOT medical requirements.
• Shift days/hours vary by location and may include days, nights, weekends.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine paperwork and log loading sheets accurately.
• Exercise independent judgment in trailer setup to optimize time and resources while complying with weight laws.
• Operate a forklift as needed.
• Load and unload cargo and perform check-in, tractor/trailer inspections and setup.
• Other duties as assigned.
