Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a CDL-A Driver to safely operate heavy trucks for pickup and delivery of waste containers. You will ensure vehicle readiness, comply with safety standards and regulations, and provide courteous service to customers along assigned routes.

The role emphasizes minor container maintenance, adherence to route schedules, and collaboration with dispatch. Strong driving experience and a safety-first mindset are required for this on-site position.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior experience driving commercial trucks preferred.
• Ability to perform minor repairs to containers.
• Maintain safety and customer service standards.
• Adhere to company policies and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle.
• Safely operate heavy truck on designated routes and service customers.
• Operate controls to lift and load refuse and dispose at facility.
• Interact courteously with customers and dispatchers on a daily basis.
• Perform minor repairs to containers on site or in the container yard.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them accordingly.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Clean area around spills and ensure safety standards.
• Maintain vehicle readiness and cleanliness for efficient service.
• Complete route productivity sheets and required reports.
• Follow safety policies and participate in ReSOP program.
