Job summary

IB Abel is hiring for a Fleet Driver to transport heavy equipment, vehicles, and materials between operation centers, job sites, and yards. You will inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and safety, plan efficient routes, and log work/rest periods to ensure timely deliveries.

The role requires a valid CDL Class A license, ability to tow a trailer, and a strong safety record, with a team-focused, can-do attitude in a long-standing, family-oriented electrical contractor environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid CDL Class A Driver’s License in good standing.
• Must pass motor carrier physical to drive certain vehicles.
• Ability to tow a trailer when required.
• Experience operating heavy equipment and loads.
• Can-do attitude with strong work ethic and collaboration.
• Driving record free of major violations and safe operation.

Responsibilities

• Transport heavy equipment, vehicles, and materials between job sites and yards.
• Inspect vehicles for safety and perform preventative maintenance.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Document and log work/rest periods.
• Retain fuel/toll receipts and submit to Payroll on time.
• Comply with truck driving rules, regulations, and company policies.
• Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions.
• Collect and verify delivery instructions; report defects or incidents.
