Job summary

Hanover Iron Works, Inc. is seeking a CDL A Truck Driver to deliver structural steel safely across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region from York base.

The role requires a clean MVR, a minimum of five years of commercial driving, and fluent English. You will load and unload materials, secure loads, plan routes, and maintain accurate logs while adhering to DOT regulations and company safety policies.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean MVR.
• Minimum 5 years of commercial truck driving experience.
• Able to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Ability to work overtime and on Saturdays as required.
• Must pass a pre-employment DOT physical and DOT drug/alcohol test.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Tractor Trailer with flatbed or straight truck to haul steel.
• Secure loads using chains, binders and straps.
• Load and unload materials using manual methods, forklifts, or overhead cranes.
• Coordinate daily deliveries and pickups with shipping/receiving.
• Plan routes and schedules to meet deadlines per DOT regulations and safety policies.
• Maintain driver logs and safety reports as required.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report issues.
• Maintain professional communication with dispatchers and customers.
• Assist with non-driving tasks when deliveries are not needed.
