Job summary

CJ Hughes Construction is seeking a CDL Driver – Gas Distribution to join a field crew in Huntington, WV. The role involves 20% CDL driving and 80% labor tasks for installing, maintaining, and repairing underground gas pipelines.

The position requires working outdoors, handling heavy loads, and following safety policies in dynamic construction environments. Travel may be needed, and overtime is possible with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL-A or CDL-B Driver’s License is required.
• Minimum 1 year CDL driving experience.
• Minimum 1 year heavy labor experience.
• Valid DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain.
• HS Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate CDL-required vehicles including dump trucks, trailers, and equipment haulers over 26,000 lbs.
• Haul equipment, pipe, materials, and debris to and from job sites.
• Load, unload, and secure materials using chains, straps, tarps, and other tie-downs.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain logs.
• Assist crew with labor duties including digging, shoveling, and site preparation.
• Support crew production and efficiency with various tasks as assigned.
• Work outdoors in diverse weather and comply with safety policies.
• May travel to different job locations as needed.
