Job summary

CJ Hughes Construction is seeking a CDL Truck Driver in a gas distribution role. The position involves operating dump trucks and hauling materials, with ~20% driving and ~80% labor tasks on outdoor construction sites.

You will assist in installation, repair, and replacement of underground gas pipelines while supporting crew safety and efficiency in variable weather and locations. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL-A or CDL-B license required.
• Minimum 1 year CDL driving experience.
• Minimum 1 year heavy labor experience.
• Valid DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate CDL-required vehicles including dump trucks, trailers, and equipment haulers over 26,000 lbs.
• Haul equipment, pipe, materials, and debris to and from job sites.
• Load, unload, and secure materials using chains, straps, tarps, and other tie‑down methods.
• Perform daily pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and complete required documentation
• Maintain driver logs when required
• Assist crew with labor duties including digging, shoveling, and site preparation
• Perform heavy lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Travel to different project sites as needed
