Job summary

CJ Hughes Construction, Inc. is seeking a CDL Driver – Gas Distribution to support underground natural gas pipeline work. The role involves driving CDL-equipped trucks and performing labor tasks on a crew, with 80% labor duties and 20% driving responsibilities.

The position requires operating heavy equipment, loading supplies, and ensuring safety on outdoor construction sites. Travel may be required, and candidates should be prepared for physically demanding work in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL-A or B license required.
• Minimum 1 year CDL driving experience.
• Minimum 1 year heavy labor experience.
• Valid DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain.
• HS Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate CDL vehicles including dump trucks and equipment haulers >26,000 lbs.
• Haul equipment, pipe, materials, and debris to job sites.
• Load, unload, and secure materials with chains, straps, tarps.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document results.
• Maintain driver logs as required and assist crew with labor duties.
