Job summary

CJ Hughes Construction is hiring a CDL Driver - Gas Distribution to join a crew installing, repairing, and replacing underground natural gas pipelines. The role is about 20% CDL driving and 80% labor tasks, with outdoor work and travel as needed.

Physical demands include lifting up to 75 lbs, working in various weather conditions, and following all safety policies. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• CDL-A or CDL-B license required (no restrictions).
• Minimum 1 year CDL driving experience.
• Minimum 1 year heavy labor experience.
• DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate CDL-required vehicles including dump trucks, trailers, and equipment haulers over 26,000 lbs.
• Haul equipment, pipe, materials, and debris to and from job sites.
• Load, unload, and secure materials using chains, straps, tarps, and other tie-down methods.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required documentation.
• Maintain driver logs when required.
• Assist crew with labor duties including digging, shovelling, and site preparation.
• Perform heavy lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures and stay aware in the red zone.
• Perform truck maintenance (grease truck) if needed.
• Support overall crew production and efficiency.
