Job summary

The CDL Schools, LLC. is seeking an instructor to support daily operations of driver training programs. You will be responsible for instruction, safety, and related duties as required.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, coordinating daily instruction, evaluating students, and serving as a role model. The role requires a current CDL A, at least 6 months of driving experience, and the ability to work varying hours including some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Proficient in over-the-road driving with CDL A vehicles.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Ability to read and comprehend regulations and reference materials.
• Ability to prioritize workload.
• Ability to use computers/tablets in daily operations.
• Ability to teach CDL skills to students to pass inspections and driving tests.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of conducting after-action reviews of training.
• Identify and report vehicle maintenance deficiencies.
• Conduct minor maintenance repairs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current Class A license.
• Maintain accurate student attendance records.
• Maintain accurate student progress records.
• Keep classroom neat and orderly.
• Ensure effective teaching concepts are used.
• Plan daily instruction and utilize equipment effectively.
• Present instruction professionally and on time.
• Instruct, supervise and monitor student actions per policy.
• Ensure instructional materials are appropriate and relay changes to supervisor.
• Evaluate students daily and conduct formal evaluations.
