Job summary

McLane is seeking a Driver Trainee Component in De Pere, WI to learn the essential functions of the Driver role and gain exposure to warehouse operations as part of development toward becoming a McLane Driver.

From day one, you’ll receive medical, dental, and vision insurance, FSA/HSA, and company‑paid life insurance, plus paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave accrual. High School Diploma or GED and a Class A CDL are required, 21+ years old, with training alongside a Driver Trainer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Possess a Class A CDL.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Perform mathematical calculations to verify quantities.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely and in compliance with regulations.
• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects and report conditions.
• Document delivery receipts, temperatures, and exceptions.
• Ride with Driver Trainer to learn regulations and driving skills.
• Maintain driver log per DOT regulations.
• Assist in unloading and delivering product to customer premises.
• Provide on-time delivery and customer service.
