Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking an entry-level Driver Trainee to learn tractor/trailer deliveries across local routes. You will train with a driver mentor, perform safety checks, and progressively handle unloading and customer deliveries in a professional manner.

This role requires a valid CDL-A, 21+ years of age, and a clean MVR, with training completed per company program. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6+ months of commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test.
• Pass road test.
• DOT Health Card required.

Responsibilities

• Attends and completes the Entry Level Driver Trainee program as required.
• Rides with driver trainer and assists deliveries.
• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations; report issues.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines; report hazards.
• Inspect trailer for proper load and secure freight; complete paperwork accurately.
• Drive to deliver customer orders according to route schedule.
• Unload products, obtain customer signatures, and handle returns as needed.
• Ensure vehicle and freight are secured at all times.
• Maintain daily hours-of-service log per federal/state/company rules.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
