McLane Company, Inc. in Oregon is seeking a Driver Trainee to learn essential functions of the Driver role through hands-on training. You will gain exposure to warehouse and operational tasks while developing skills to become a full-fledged McLane Driver.

Starting pay during training is $31.55 per hour, with Day 1 benefits including medical, dental, vision, FSA/HSA and life insurance. The program emphasizes safety, reliability, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations to verify quantities.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck in a safe manner in compliance with all regulations and company policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer equipment for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report.
• Operate Driver Delivery Handheld (DDH) and document delivery receipts, temperatures and exceptions.
• Ride with Driver Trainer to learn regulatory requirements and driving techniques.
• Maintain driver log (Manual or PeopleNet) per DOT regulations.
• Assist the Driver in unloading trailer and delivering product to customer sites.
• Provide customer service including on-time delivery and handling returns/credits.
