Job summary

Performance Food Group is hiring an entry-level Driver Trainee to learn tractor trailer and straight truck deliveries, intrastate and interstate routes, and unloading at customer sites in Minnesota. You will train on safety checks, DOT compliance, and customer service while delivering food products.

This position offers a daily guaranteed pay, potential annual earnings around $80,000 with top performers exceeding $100,000, and a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• 6+ months commercial driving.
• Valid CDL A.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card.
• Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight.

Responsibilities

• Attends and completes the Driver Training Program as required.
• Rides-with and assists driver trainer during deliveries.
• Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip) and inspections per DOT regulations.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company driving policies.
• Inspect trailer for proper loading and secure freight; complete required paperwork.
• Drive to and deliver customer orders according to route schedule.
• Unload products and confirm delivery with customer signatures; collect payments where required.
• Secure equipment and complete necessary paperwork at shift end.
• Perform general housekeeping in tractor and loading dock areas.
