Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a CDL-A Delivery Driver in Columbia, SC to support our nationwide logistics network. The role focuses on safe, efficient delivery of goods to customer sites, with emphasis on compliance with DOT requirements and accurate documentation.

Excellent earning potential with pay ranging from $85,000 to $90,000 annually and a $10,000 sign-on bonus. Day 1 benefits include medical, dental, vision, FSA/HSA, and life insurance, plus paid holidays and more.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Class A CDL and drive safely under DOT regulations.
• At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for job instructions and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report.
• Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery.
• Drive tractor-trailer to destination in compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations and document delivery receipts.
• Unload trailer and deliver product to customer premises.

What You’ll Do As a CDL-A Delivery Driver

• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition.
• Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery.
• Drive tractor-trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle on the road and on customer premises.
• Maintain driver log (Manual or Peoplenet) according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures and exceptions.
• Unload trailer, delivering product into customer premises.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You’ll Bring As a CDL-A Teammate

• At least 21 years of age
• Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A)
• At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience
• Must meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications
• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
