Job summary

McLane Company, Inc is seeking a CDL-A Delivery Driver in Columbia, SC. You will inspect the tractor-trailer, load/unload, and deliver to customer locations while adhering to DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age
• Valid CDL-A
• 1 year or 50,000 miles of tractor-trailer experience
• Meets McLane MVR and risk rating qualifications
• Ability to read, write and understand English for job tasks

Responsibilities

• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects and log DOT inspection details
• Verify bill of lading and keys for accuracy during night deliveries
• Drive tractor-trailer to destination obeying regulations and manage vehicle on premises
• Maintain driver logs per DOT rules, document receipts and product temps
• Unload trailer and deliver products to customer sites
• Perform other duties as assigned

What you'll do as a CDL-A Delivery Driver:

• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition.
• Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery.
• Drive tractor-trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle on the road and on customer premises.
• Maintain driver log (Manual or Peoplenet) according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures and exceptions.
• Unload trailer, delivering product into customer premises.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications you'll bring as a CDL-A Teammate:

• At least 21 years of age
• Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A)
• At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience
• Must meet McLane's MVR and risk rating qualifications
• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
