Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Class A CDL driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers, while supporting the selling process and maintaining safety and on-time performance.

Responsibilities include daily pre-trip inspections, securement of cargo, operation of tractors and trailers, adherence to DOT regulations, and proactive communication with dispatch and customers to identify additional business opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• 1 year of recent driving experience or successful completion of FedEx Driver Development Course.
• MVR must meet hiring standards.
• DOT reg. 391 compliance required.
• State/LCV knowledge for listed states where LCVs are used.
• Able to count, perform basic math, and communicate clearly.
• Able to lift/carry up to 100 pounds repeatedly.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and dollies.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and ropes.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or issues.
• Interact with customers to determine pickup/delivery needs and solicit additional business.
• Assist with road driver or dock duties as needed.
• Adhere to all DOT regulations and company policies.
