Job summary

FedEx Freight in Illinois is seeking a professional truck driver to pick up and deliver freight between Service Centers and customers while supporting the selling process.

The role requires a Class A CDL with hazardous materials and tank endorsements, up to one year of relevant driving experience, and the ability to meet all DOT regulations. Starting pay is $33.63 per hour with opportunities for linehaul duties and mileage pay.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL with double/triple, hazardous materials and tank endorsements; automatic transmission CDL restriction allowed.
• Must possess one year of experience within the past three years or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must possess acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements under 391 FMC regulations.
• LCV qualifications apply in specified states and require minimum standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform pre-trip and safety inspections of equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and convertor dollies.
• Secure freight inside trailers and perform freight handling.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers to coordinate pick-ups and deliveries.
• Seek additional business from customers and provide leads to sales.
