Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a driver to pick up and deliver freight between Service Centers and customers, supporting the selling process. Responsibilities include operating tractor-trailers, performing pre-trip inspections, securing freight, and maintaining documentation.

The role emphasizes safety, DOT compliance, and customer service, with a home-daily schedule and comprehensive benefits. Qualified candidates hold a Class A CDL with hazmat and tank endorsements (automatic transmission allowed)

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat, and tank endorsements.
• Automatic transmission CDL restriction allowed.
• Must possess 1 year of experience within the most recent 3 years or successful completion of the FedEx Freight Driver Development course.
• Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements under 391 FMC regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles (and triples where applicable) and/or straight trucks.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor or trailer.
• Perform freight handling using appropriate equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers to determine pick-up/delivery needs and solicit additional business.
• Demonstrate internal and external customer service.
