Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a CDI Specialist to perform comprehensive chart reviews and identify documentation gaps. You will collaborate with Coders, Educators, Quality, Case managers and Providers to ensure clinical accuracy and alignment with CMS standards.

The role involves daily inpatient reviews, initial code and DRG calculations, and querying physicians when documentation is unclear or incomplete. Strong clinical knowledge and EHR proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires university degree and 2–4 years of relevant experience; masters/doctorate may substitute.
• RN, MD, or MD equivalent required; 4+ years direct patient care in acute settings or CDI experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive secondary chart reviews to identify missed documentation opportunities.
• Collaborate with Coders, Educators, Quality, Case managers and Providers to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct daily concurrent reviews to ensure discharge-ready documentation and accurate DRG assignments.
