Job summary

e4health is seeking a Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Consultant to provide timely reviews of patient records and ensure accurate documentation reflecting illness severity. The role involves collaboration with providers and coders to improve chart data and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include concurrent/retrospective reviews, education efforts, and managing queries while protecting patient confidentiality and HIPAA rules.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of clinical documentation experience.
• Current RN license required.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate medical records.
• Proficiency with PC-based chart review and Microsoft Office.
• Effective communication with management and clients.
• General understanding of AI tools.
• Comfortable using a Mac computer.
• Full Time – at least 32 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Perform concurrent and/or retrospective reviews to identify documentation opportunities.
• Collaborate with providers and coders to ensure complete, accurate documentation.
• Follow client procedures and guidelines.
• Review records for relevant diagnoses and procedures.
• Initiate and complete queries to reflect accurate inpatient/outpatient data.
• Adhere to HIPAA and privacy requirements.
• Understand DRG payer issues, audit risks, and quality metrics.
• Work with client teams to meet assignment needs.
