Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Specialist in the United States to review and analyze health records, clarifying diagnoses and procedures to ensure accurate documentation and compliant reimbursement. You will collaborate with providers, coding teams, and other health professionals while applying ACDIS/AHIMA guidelines.

The role requires CDI experience, relevant licensure (RN/MD) or RHIA/RHIT/CCS, and familiarity with DRG assignment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required or relevant experience substituted for education
At least 2+ years of acute care inpatient hospital coding or CDI experience
Familiarity with encoder and DRG assignment and current coding guidelines

Responsibilities

Conducts initial and follow-up concurrent reviews of medical records for assigned patients
Identifies opportunities to clarify documentation and validate diagnoses
Prepares compliant physician queries following ACDIS/AHIMA guidelines
Performs DRG reconciliation and updates DRG based on documentation during reviews
Uses CDI applications to process daily work lists and capture query results
Ensures adherence to HIPAA and hospital policies
