Central Valley Meat Company is seeking a Cattle Accountant II (non-exempt) in Hanford, CA. The role focuses on maintaining accurate inventory records for our cattle processing operations, coordinating with vendors and buyers, and ensuring timely, precise settlements.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED with at least two years of inventory control experience, familiarity with ERP and inventory software, and strong Excel/Word skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; an associate degree or accounting certification is a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of inventory control experience.
• Strong ERP and inventory management software knowledge.
• Advanced Excel and MS Word skills.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
• Ability to work opening and closing shifts.
• Must be comfortable around cattle and smells.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update inventory records per procedures.
• Identify and report discrepancies between stock counts and records.
• Improve inventory management processes for accuracy and efficiency.
• Prepare settlements and audit cattle checks for accuracy.
• Set up new vendor accounts and maintain vendor records.
• Analyze cattle costing, track commissions, apply freight costs.
• Process freight bills with timely charges.
• Coordinate with cattle vendors and buyers to ensure smooth operations.
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.
