Job summary

The Catholic Diocese of Columbus is seeking a Catholic Social Doctrine Ministry Coordinator to advance diocesan social outreach, develop content on Catholic social teaching, and collaborate with parishes and partner organizations to serve the poor and vulnerable.

The coordinator works onsite in Columbus, OH, with regular Monday–Friday hours and occasional weekends or nights as ministry needs arise; flexibility to align with the Bishop’s priorities is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Social Work or Catholic Educator Certification.
• Previous experience in community organizing, church ministry or advocacy.
• Strong understanding of Catholic Social Doctrine and related Magisterial documents.
• Excellent oral and written communication; ability to work collaboratively.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Create and promote Catholic Social Teaching content for education through articles, speaking engagements, podcasts and e-newsletters.
• Coordinate social outreach programs addressing identified needs from a Catholic perspective.
• Collaborate with parishes and Curial departments to advance diocesan social outreach priorities.
• Engage in program development aligned with the Bishop’s priorities and diocesan policies.
