Job summary

The Archdiocese of San Antonio seeks an Assistant Principal to collaborate with the Principal on curriculum, instruction, and student discipline within a Catholic school community.

The role emphasizes modeling Gospel values, staff development, and efficient school administration, including scheduling and policy implementation, with responsibilities extending to supervision of teachers and coordination with parents and Archdiocese guidelines.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or in a Master’s program with 18 credit hours in educational administration and supervision courses or a state principal certificate.
• Three years of experience as a classroom teacher.
• Must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment Requirements and background screening.
• Must pass Texas DPS Fingerprint-based Applicant Clearinghouse screening.
• Must pass Do Not Hire Registry background screening.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
• Supports and adheres to Religious Standards for Catholic School Employees and Archdiocese policies.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters.
• Supports and assists with the principal’s responsibilities and serves as principal in the absence of the principal.
• Oversees the general administration of the school and staff supervision.
• Assists in planning for staff development, curriculum materials, and student testing.
• Interprets and enforces school policies and safety protocols.
• Coordinates master scheduling and contributes to handbook preparation.
• Communicates effectively with students, parents, and professionals.
• Ensures reports and documentation are maintained and policies followed.
