Job summary

The Archdiocese of San Antonio seeks an Instructional Assistant to support teachers in planning, guiding, and educating students in a Christ-centered environment. The role assists with materials, classroom activities, and student learning within the school’s philosophy and curriculum.

The assistant helps prepare lessons, supports student evaluation, and ensures safety and orderly operations throughout the school day, reporting to the Principal.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of college study or an Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Experience assisting in instruction with children is desired.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support and uphold the Catholic school philosophy and mission.
• Demonstrate Gospel values in daily tasks and interactions.
• Follow Archdiocese policies and safety requirements; protect confidentiality.
• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and activities.
• Supervise students before, during, and after school as assigned.
• Escort or transport students as required; maintain orderly environment.
• Lead small groups as directed and assist with routine classroom tasks.
