Job summary

St. Clement of Rome Catholic School seeks a compassionate School Counselor to support students’ academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development within a faith-filled environment.

The counselor collaborates with students, families, faculty, and administration to foster safety, growth, and well-being aligned with Catholic values. The role emphasizes individualized counseling, program development, crisis support, and confidential records.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in School Counseling or related field.
• Valid School Counselor certification or eligibility preferred.
• Experience with school-aged children in an educational setting preferred.
• Commitment to supporting students in a faith-based educational environment and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group counseling to support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with the mission of the school.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and outside agencies to identify and address student needs.
• Assist students with conflict resolution, coping skills, decision-making, and personal growth.
• Support students during periods of crisis and provide appropriate referrals to community resources.
• Monitor student progress and maintain confidential counseling records in accordance with school policies and professional standards.
• Consult with faculty and staff regarding strategies to support student success and well-being.
• Participate in student support meetings and assist with intervention planning.
• Promote a positive school climate that reflects Catholic values and respect for all individuals.
