Job summary

Sacred Heart School in Covina is seeking a full-time 6th Grade Homeroom Teacher to lead a six-subject program including math, ELA, science, social studies, and religion. The teacher will implement standards-based instruction aligned with California and Archdiocesan curricula and will plan field trips to support curriculum goals.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and a teaching credential in relevant subjects; prior Catholic school experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; teaching credential in math, science or ELA preferred.
• Experience teaching middle school curriculum.
• Experience in a Catholic educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teaches six middle school core subject areas and manages the daily duties of a homeroom teacher.
• Instruction follows standards-based (California state and Archdiocesan) curriculum.
• Creates and submits lesson plans following the weekly faculty calendar.
• Maintains grades and attendance using Gradelink.
• Communicates regularly with students, families, and administration on progress.
• Collaborates with grade-level peers in PLCs to update curriculum and assessments.
