Job summary

The Diocese of Allentown invites applications for a 7th Grade Homeroom Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year at Sacred Heart School in West Reading. The successful candidate will develop engaging lessons, support students' faith formation, and collaborate with staff.

The position is full-time, Exempt, reports to the Principal, with duties including classroom management, parent communication, assessment, and participation in school events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or equivalent.
• Candidates must hold or be eligible for a PA Middle-Level certificate.
• Previous teaching experience preferred.
• Clearances and background checks required prior to interview as per PA mandates.

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans for 7th grade Reading and English language arts.
• Instruct 7th grade students, assign and grade homework, and track progress.
• Maintain fair, accurate, and timely grading policies and attendance records.
• Communicate with families and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
• Ensure confidentiality and adhere to Allentown Diocese policies.
• Supervise students to maintain a safe, orderly learning environment.
• Attend staff meetings and school events and support faith formation.

Education
