Job summary

Heraeus Medevio seeks a Product Development Engineer III – Catheter Prototyping to lead design and prototyping from concept through evaluation. You will generate 3D models, 2D drawings, and prototype builds, collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate customer needs into validated designs.

The role involves bench testing, material selection, and design verification within a regulated quality system, with travel between Fridley and White Bear Lake as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in catheter prototyping or related field.
• Experience designing catheter-based medical devices.
• Hands-on experience building and testing prototypes.
• 3D CAD modeling and production-quality drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead catheter prototype development from concept through evaluation.
• Translate customer needs into engineering requirements with traceability.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for prototypes.
• Select materials and fabrication processes for catheter components.
• Develop bench test methods and validate key performance metrics.
• Analyze data to identify failure modes and guide design decisions.
• Support design verification, risk management, and design transfer activities.
• Plan and coordinate development programs, schedules, and budgets.
• Collaborate across functions and communicate results, risks, and recommendations.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
