Job summary

St. Luke’s Health – Memorial Lufkin, part of CommonSpirit Health, seeks a Cath Lab Tech to support diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures. You will operate and scrub for devices like IVUS, rotablator, IMPELLA, and other lab equipment, ensuring high-quality imaging and safety.

You will use your ARRT credentials and lab experience to contribute to timely diagnoses while maintaining radiation safety and patient-focused care in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Radiology Technology Program.
• Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT.
• Basic Life Support - CPR within 14 days.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months.
• Registered Cardiac Elect or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer.
• Minimum three (3) years clinical experience in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Operate cath lab ancillary equipment and scrub for diagnostic/interventional procedures.
• Demonstrate radiation safety practices and maintain image quality workflow.
• Ensure accurate documentation and timely communication with physicians and staff.
• Adhere to quality standards, reliability, and patient-focused service.

Education

Graduate of Radiology Technology Program

Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT

Basic Life Support - CPR

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Registered Cardiac Elect or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer

Minimum three (3) years clinical experience in a hospital setting

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Cath Lab Tech, you will help deliver excellent patient care by performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients with cardiovascular disease in the cath lab setting.

Every day you’ll independently operate all ancillary equipment in the lab including but not limited to: IVUS, pressure wire, rotablator, IMPELLA, atherectomy devices, laser and angiojet. You will demonstrate competencies in scrubbing techniques of all diagnostic and interventional procedures, utilize good radiation safety practices and you will make a positive impact on internal and external customers.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to fully understand the importance of diagnostic imaging. This includes knowledge of the general imaging workflow, various patient positioning techniques, and capturing clear results for timely and accurate diagnosis.
