Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina seeks a Cath Lab Tech to support cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures in an academic health setting. The tech will prepare patients, operate imaging and hemodynamic monitoring equipment, scrub and assist physicians, and ensure accurate documentation.

This role supports education of students, participation in quality and safety initiatives, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Prepare patients and equipment for cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures
• Scrub, circulate, and monitor during procedures, assisting cardiologists and fellows
• Operate imaging and hemodynamic monitoring systems while maintaining radiation safety
• Accurately document procedures in the electronic medical record and cath lab systems
• Support education of students and trainees in an academic medical setting
• Respond to cath lab emergencies and on-call needs as required

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and equipment for cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures
• Scrub, circulate, and monitor during procedures, assisting cardiologists and fellows
• Operate imaging and hemodynamic monitoring systems while maintaining radiation safety
• Document procedures in EMR and cath lab systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and data collection
• On-call readiness for cath lab emergencies
