Job summary

St. Joseph Medical Center in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to support the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. The role involves preparing patients for procedures, starting IVs, monitoring rhythms, and providing discharge instructions to families.

You will collaborate with physicians and nursing teams to ensure safe, high-quality care. Minimum experience includes 1 year in Cath Lab nursing (2–3 years CCU preferred), Texas RN licensure, and current BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• RN license in Texas is required.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• 1 year Cath Lab nursing experience preferred; 2–3 years CCU preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for procedures in the Cath Lab and obtain required permits.
• Perform pre-op teaching and start IVs, place electrodes, and monitor pulses.
• Remove arterial/venous sheaths following protocol and monitor physiologic parameters.
• Provide discharge instructions and communicate with Nursing Units to ensure continuity of care.
• Respond quickly in emergencies and document abnormal findings for the cardiologist.
